What Is A Good Anti Wrinkle Cream?

It is easy to get lost amidst the numerous anti-aging products today. You’d think that having more choices is a good thing, but drawing a line between what works and what does not work can be overwhelming, if I must say, and that makes choosing very difficult. Well, there are product review sites and customer testimonials you could, perhaps, refer to before making a decision, but sometimes even these could be misleading if you do not know what makes a good anti-wrinkle cream in the first place.

A good anti-wrinkle cream is not all about having a good name. Even the best brands out there carry products that are ineffective for one main reason – they contain dyes, fragrances, chemicals and other artificial ingredients that damage the skin. Most anti-wrinkle creams contain keratin, a protein that’s very important to maintain healthy skin. But this keratin in most anti-aging products is synthetically-derived which means to say that it does very little or nothing at all to produce anti-aging results. Worse, it, along with the other chemicals, only serves to damage the skin. When your skin becomes irritated or damaged, would you still consider an anti-wrinkle cream effective? Certainly not.

So for me, to be considered a wise choice, a good anti-wrinkle cream must first and foremost be organic. Organic means natural. It is not tested on animals, is safe for humans and good for the environment. Organic does not contain harsh ingredients but is rather made up of stuff that support, promote and encourage general well-being not just the health of the skin. If you are looking for a good anti-wrinkle cream, make sure it is botanically-based, with the right blend of powerful blend of herbs, plants, and essential and flower oils that protect the skin, retain moisture, and improve skin elasticity.

Antioxidants have to be in every reliable anti-wrinkle cream. If you come across an anti-aging product that does not have antioxidant properties at all, it cannot be called an anti-aging product in the first place. Antioxidants protect the skin from free radical damage, the impact of which can be more severe on aging skin. Green Tea and Acai Berry contain high levels of antioxidants, a fact that makes them highly preferred ingredients in anti-aging creams and serums.

A good anti-wrinkle cream also needs to have vitamins to nourish and protect the skin. Vitamin C, besides being a powerful antioxidant itself, has healing properties. At the same time, it stimulates the growth of new collagen. Vitamin E is also an antioxidant which helps in the repair process of damaged cells. It binds water so the skin does not lose moisture. Vitamin A has skin-nourishing properties as well, but one form of Vitamin A, retinol, can be harsh for people with sensitive skin.

The presence of functional keratin also makes an anti-wrinkle cream effective. Functional keratin Cynergy TK is organic. Derived from wool, it is living and active and which the body can make great use of. Functional keratin forces the body to produce more elastin and collagen naturally.

Also an important anti-wrinkle ingredient is beeswax. Yes, the wax made from honeycombs is considered as nature’s gift for the skin. It moisturizes and revitalizes the skin and gives the anti-wrinkle cream its non-comedogenic property. Beeswax has been used for a long time to preserve the health of the skin.

AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) are fruit acids that are often found in anti-aging products, too. They help fight the aging process by removing dead skin cells. However, AHAs can be irritating to the skin, so if you have sensitive skin, this is one ingredient you can do without.

When shopping for anti-wrinkle creams, read the label to make sure it contain at least some (if not all) of these ingredients in their organic or natural form and none of the harsh chemicals.
